Fruit GROWN to a Specification YOU SET
VITICULTURE & VINEYARD SERVICES
Growing wine grapes well is a long argument with a site. Cordonry Viticulture Ltd has been having that argument in Martinborough since 2004, on behalf of owners who would rather win it.
We are an independent consultancy. We do not make wine, we do not broker fruit, and we do not sell inputs — which means that when we recommend a nutrition programme, nobody is earning a margin on the recommendation.
Most engagements are season-long: fortnightly block walks, written specifications for every operation, and a report at the end of the year that says what worked and what did not. Some are a single site visit before a purchase. Both matter, and we take the small ones seriously because a bad site cannot be managed out of trouble.
The practice works across the Wairarapa, from four-hectare owner-operated blocks to corporate vineyards of thirty hectares and more. What they have in common is an owner who wants the reasoning, not just the instruction.

TWENTY-TWO SEASONS IN
The practice, on what the work is for
A vineyard gives you one attempt a year and roughly forty attempts in a working life. Every season you spend guessing is one you do not get back, which is the whole argument for measuring things. Our approach
Twenty-two seasons in the Wairarapa. Fourteen vineyards under season-long management this year.
